Design Your System Around Your Home Theater Cabinet

One consideration in designing your home theater system in where it will be located and most people look seriously at a home theater cabinet. Formerly known as an entertainment center, your addition of a component system can be worked around an existing home theater cabinet.

Normally, a home theater system will have three speakers for the front. One is for the left, one for the right and a center speaker along with a bass speaker that can go in the front or in the back. Depending on the size and aesthetics of your speakers, they may fit into the book sections of your home theater cabinet.

If your left and right speakers are the type, which are tall and thin, they can stand on each side of the home theater cabinet. The center speaker, which as its name implies, should be near the center of your room, in front of you. If nothing else, it can go on top of your existing home theater cabinet or even mounted on the wall.

Choice Of Cabinets Made To Reflect Dcor

The home theater cabinet you use, if an existing one, was probably chosen to fit into your rooms design. And unless youre looking at completely redesigning your room and replacing all the furniture, its the one youll stay with.

Your bass speaker will sound better if its in front of you, providing more rumbling during those action movies, as long as it isnt hemmed in on your home theater cabinet by other solid objects like books. Most bass speakers are of the reflex type, meaning the sound doesnt always come from the front, it may be reflected out the side and if blocked by books the sound could be muffled.

Placing the bass speaker behind you is a good option to not being able to hear the sound clearly. It too should be located near a center line of the room. Your rear speakers should have no bearing on your selection of a home theater cabinet.

Todays home theater cabinets offer a variety of designs to fit just about everyones home design and everyones budget. Keep in mind that the choice of the home theater system is to provide you with the excellence in the theater experience. The home theater cabinet is to hold all the components and all the speakers and fit into your decor.

In order to show off and use your home theater, you will need to have something to watch on it.

There are of course a number of different ways that you can meet this basic criteria, which of course will depend on how much money youre willing to spend and how important certain elements of the home theater system are to you.

While professionals, who know all the ropes, may charge a fee for calibrating your system, the amateur is one who simply plays it by ear and eye, taking up the task of calibrating more as a hobby rather than with any serious purpose. Read the electronics and consumer magazines, and most of all shop around; dont buy the first thing you see. Additionally, with the use of video projectors and S-video connections on many TVs, its not unusual to record onto the computer and watch the show later on your TV or through the projector on your home theater system. They have probably heard which items are good and which ones arent by customers who have bought them. Why Have A Home Theater?
